Do Greenies actually work for making teeth/gums healthier?
On our last visit to the vet, he was concerned about my dog's teeth. They aren't as clean as they should be and her breath is starting to get that bad "dog breath" smell. She's not even five yet and obviously I want to prevent it from getting any worse. She's been eating food the vet gave us for her teeth mixed in with her regular food but I haven't noticed any difference over the course of a month. I've read about Greenies online but I don't know anyone who's used them... do they work? And if not, any recommendations for things that DO work would be much appreciated.

We have used them on all of our dogs, but I do not give them to my bullmastiff anymore because he is a gulper. He won't actually chew it up so I felt it was too dangerous to give to him. Even the largest size is gone in seconds with him.
We brush our dogs teeth and that has worked pretty well overall. It is a pain in the behind, but I truly think they benefit from it. We do it about once a week.
We also give raw bones to chew on as well. While I haven't used them personally, some people I know swear by the Bright Brites star shaped dental treats.
