How can I get three cats and one dog to get along?
I have three cats, my boyfriend has one dog and we are moving in together. The dog has been purposely not socialized with other animals and my boyfriend refuses to take him to classes or get him desexed... But I am worried about my cats being with him. What can I do?
If you have an extra room or bathroom thats big enough, put the dog in there and let him get used to the scent of the cats. Then, since cats are much smaller and are by nature either afraid or aggresive towards dogs, have them all meet at the same time so the cats will feel safer in numbers while the dog is being held back. Let the cats look at and get used to him. Then once they both calm down, let the dog slowly loose, as long as you don't think he will go after them. If he does, put him back in the room. I really hope this helps! Its hard to live in a house with quarreling pets!
